Luvox Prescription Continued...

As the deadliest mass school shooting in the United States took place in 1998, the public and press want to know what it was that caused the attack that killed 13 people and injured 36 resulting in the death of both of the shooters Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. As talked about in the previous post, it was reported that Columbine shooter Eric Harris was taking the drug Luvox while the attack broke out. How can we be so sure to think this is true? Keep reading for more juicy detail on what went down on that dreadful day. Continuing on, Dr. Ann Blake Tracy who is the executive director of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness, looked further into the case. His findings were that the two men had been on drugs during the time of the attack. He started out by saying that their brains were enhanced with serotonin, which causes violence and aggressive behavior within people. It also can make people act the complete opposite. He states that Harris became depressed weeks before the shooting and had thoughts of suicide or homicide. From this drug, Harris then proceeded to take the drug Luvox which triggered his anger further causing him to lash out more frequently. It is said that this made him even more apt to what him and Klebold did. Dr. Tracy also mentioned that Luvox was found in Harris’s system at the sight of the attack. If this is so, why was the police trying to cover this up? Is there something they did not want the public knowing? Furthermore, days after the shooting there were reports that Luvox was a safe drug and that it had no connection to behavior that was violent or aggressive in any way. While the police stated that there had been no sign of drugs found in either of the two bodies, there was a further investigation that found this statement to be inaccurate. There were no reports as to how long the drug was in the body of Harris, but the level the investigators found was low. Reports earlier from Mark Taylor, a student at the school, claimed that Harris was a maniac, psychotic, and had emotional distress. He also made a claim of failing to warn about the dangers of the drug. As Taylor’s lawsuit progressed, it eventually came out that Harris was taking a drug called Zoloft previous to the shooting. Investigators looked into the case, but nothing came out of it and the police stated that there were no signs of the drug found in the system of either of the two men. It was also said that the drug could not be linked to acts of violence. There is a wide range of what drugs can do to the body that makes a person become triggered and lash out into aggressive and violent behavior. It is proven that from the growing list of shootings, drugs have been found in the attacker’s system. While there are prescriptions out there for drugs, agencies also warn against the behaviors these drugs can cause. There has got to be an end for prescribing these types of drugs to people who need them for good reasons.
