Jefferson County and the Brooks Brown Cover Up Continued
Following up with the previous post, there have been claims of Jefferson County police hiding documents to cover up what really happened during the Columbine shooting. As stated in the previous post, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold had been reported to the police after suspicious actions but the police had never further investigations. Continuing on with the reports, days after the shooting, officers met with Guerra as well as Dave Thomas who was an assistant DA. They brought up the report that the Browns had made on about Harris threatening their son Brooks. At the close of the meeting however, they decided to not disclose any information. Sounds pretty fishy, right? As Thomas was investigated, he claimed that he was just at the meeting to discuss his opinion on the matter. But, following the investigation days after, the sheriff’s office lied about what they Browns had told them about Harris and Thomas followed along in the lie. Questions began to ring out from reporters. Sheriff Kiekbusch claimed that they did not find any pipe bombs in the county that matched Harris’s location, but it just so happened that Guerra had found one earlier in his investigation. Also, he claimed that there was no record of the Browns ever meeting with lead investigator John Hicks. This triggered the Browns into ordering more investigations on the two shooters. Years later, producers of 60 Minutes came out with concrete proof that the affidavit existed. In closing, it came out that Guerra was told not to share his affidavit with anyone outside the attorney’s office and it disappeared from his desk days after. It was also deleted from his files and officer Kiekbusch claimed that he did not know of the affidavit until after the shootings. The Browns say that they are frustrated with the lies by the court and think the shooting could have been prevented if the investigations had taken place prior.
