So, is fluoride controlling you?
Is the Fluoride that was put into our water system controlling us?
As blunt and out there I can be, no it is not. I will list off some of the evidence that advocates for the government controlling us with water use in their argument. This list includes: lower IQ in children, damage to certain parts of your brain (hippocampus, purkinje cells), impaired antioxidant defense system, and reduction in lipid content. (Cite for the research, and a media source who reported on this issue.) The lose in IQ would make the public hopefully not think twice about the government controlling them. The hippocampus is mainly long term memory and emotions. The government, if they can damage your hippocampus, may be able to keep you from becoming aggressive. If your body can't fight off disease with your "impaired" defense systems, you're now liable to buy medicine from corporations thus sedating you more. How terrible all of this could be.
Now I am not a scientist by any means nor do I know what a purkinje cell is but I can tell you how falsely reading information can lead you into some serious trouble. On the Huffington Post, which is one of the citations above or any site who reported on this issue, these people are master minds at manipulating words to fit their own agenda. Reading through the report, there is NO single place where the scientists made the claim that fluoride was causing the issues above. He did add a citation from the U.S National Research Council that stated, "Fluoride may cause neurotoxicity in laboratory animals, including effects on memory and learning (cite for research link above)." Too much fluoride can kill you or leave you seriously harmed and I won't argue that but giving a high dosage of fluoride causes rats and other small animals compared to humans health issues? A 2 pound rat cannot handle as much fluoride as a human can? Crazy stuff. On top of this, the scientists concluded with a blank statement that told people to just be careful with dosage. Too much fluoride can be an issue so just make sure the numbers stay up to date. This meaning every few years, check to make sure the dosage level is optimum.
People manipulate facts to gain popularity or to further convince themselves they are right. Don't let people control you with their words. When crazy stories like this come out, check the sites. You'll find the issues there in the writers words and the scientists words. No mention of health issues with a proper dosage of fluoride were ever reported here.
In case there are any doubters left, here are some studies proving how much of a health improvement it is by having fluoride in your water:
