Propaganda: a Form of Brainwash
Since Communism started in the late
19th century, it has been in direct competition with Capitalism. In
America, Communism is seen as completely evil and wrong in every sense. Communism
consists of everyone having the same amount of goods and it is the governments job
to ensure this happens through totalitarianism. Capitalism is the exact opposite
because the belief is that everyone should compete to have more goods and that
the government should stay out of the way.
Communism is seen has horrible
because of the over controlling government that is monitoring people and trying
to control everyone to do what they want them to do. If America is seen as the
opposite of this, why did they print so much propaganda to sway Americans
beliefs. American Government in a sense tried to control the beliefs of their
people the same way that the government does for a Communist country.
The Capitalist propaganda portrayed
Communism as something that is deadly and wants to take away from American Capitalists.
Communism painted Capitalism in almost the exact same light. How is it that two
ideals that vary so much be so similar? America seems to take a Communist approach
to make sure that US citizens listen to what the government wants. The US used
propaganda to brainwash Americans into believing what can be construed as Communist
beliefs.
