Power Conspiracies Continue (Part 3)
All this conflict between the North and the South, about slavery, was what sparked the Civil War. The Slave Power Conspiracy stuck throughout these times. Slavocracy was another term for this theory. With slave power rising in the North, this theory continued to grow. After the war, there was still no solution. The States wanted to believe that everything was fixed, but problems continued to lie underneath. This issue then broke down into Democrats and Republicans, Democrats being Southern views, and Republicans supporting Northern views. These political parties stand strong today, and continue to have opposing views over world issues.
Overall, do I believe that Slave Power was true? Absolutely.
Slaves were able to gain their rights and freedoms slowly throughout history, but
if the North would not have initially allowed this progress, there is a
likelihood that slaves would be a part of the present as well. The up rise of
power from those of lesser rank allowed for a lot of progress in United States
history. With progress comes setbacks, and America continues to deal with some.
Racial inequality continues to be a problem, so was anything
from the past solved? If we had an up rise in equality, why are some Americans
still suffering from inequality?
We went to war over the disagreement of slavery, followed by
the creation of the Emancipation Proclamation, is there a reason to still be
dealing with these issues today?
Do we believe that another up rise of power may occur? This time
dealing with racial supremacy, not slaves? Are we able to justify another
rebellion as the Northern States did, but this time whites and blacks? Are
there not already signs of racial supremacy rebellions?
Leave any thoughts below!!
