Duck and Cover
Even though the Duck and Cover drill might not be a conspiracy theory, our group thought it would be helpful to show what was going on during this time period when citizens thought that they were going to get bombed daily. The Cold War was a very dangerous time with so many talks about Nuclear War about to break out. Citizens were concerned about what they were going to do when these bombs went off, and where would some of these bombs go.
Duck and Cover was a method that was taught to students in a school setting in 1951, that would go over what to do if a Nuclear Bomb went off while at school. There are many different opinions when it comes to if this really worked at all. But needless to say, Duck and Cover was a very eye opening tactics to teach children in schools.
When talking about making a movie about the Duck and Cover drills in schools, our common thought was that this would never work. One that this mostly required the students to get under a school deck (made of wood) and that this would save them. The second thing was that if the bomb was so close that building included would vanish instantly. So our group decided to make a parody showing how dumb some of these things sounded, especially that this was the top way to help oneself when trying to escape a Nuclear Bomb.
Attached is our Youtube video and we would love for you to take a look to see what it was about!
