Lanza's Profile
Lanza matches the profile of a killer to a T. I will list his characteristics that lead him into committing this horrific crime.
After scouring through over 500 pages worth of FBI intel on Lanza, I have the qualities that make up a potential mass shooter. Unfortunately I can't link particular notes since the FBI downloaded them onto Adobe, so the link to download the notes to view on adobe is right here.
First quality, he is a genius who distrusts the government. On page 41 of the FBI files, the FBI tells a story of when Lanza was 15, he hacked into a government website. He made it through two levels of security before being stopped on the final line of security. When agents showed up to the door, his mother begged the agents to not take him away. One of the agents mentioned, "If he is that smart he could have a job with them someday." His distrust in the government could lead him to attack. The school would be a perfect place where children are told to trust the government.
Next quality, he was a possible pedophile. When the FBI went through his home, they found pornographic images in his room. On his computer, he had a file that promoted for pedophile rights. An FBI agent who interviewed one of the women Lanza was talking to online, described a time when he claimed a child-adult relationship would "possibly be beneficial to both parties." Being a pedophile would give him a motive to stop them from learning what he deemed as possible toxic material.
Last quality, he was secluded most of his life. His mother rarely left the house and the FBI had several interviews saying Mrs. Lanza never let anyone into the home. The secluded nature would leave him socially inept. This would promote a personality that may lack feelings and lead him to not be remorseful of his actions if he hurt another person.
