J.F.K And The Mafia

J.F.K. And The Mafia

Many American believe that President Kennedy was linked though the mob to help him get elected in 1960 elections. But was he truly connected with the mafia? I do think he was due to the fact that his father, Joseph Kennedy Sr., worked with Sam Giancana with a bootlegging business during Prohibition. John’s younger brother Robert Kennedy was also a threat to the mafia because when he was the United States Attorney General he targeted organized crime. Later after JFK was killed Robert had his own suspicion about the assassination on his brother and even said, “I knew they’d get one of us, I thought it would be me.”

Additionally, Giancana was an associate of singer Frank Sinatra, a close friend, and allegedly was a donor to JFK’s 1960 Presidential campaign, at a time when politicians were not required to dislodge their deep pockets contributors. During the Kennedy administration, the Chicago mobster, along with other crime figures, is known to have enlisted by the CIA to plot the killing of Cuban leader Fidel Castro. President John F. Kennedy’s tendency toward extramarital romances has been well-documented in the decades since his Assassination- but did one of his relationships play a direct role in his untimely death? Well Giancana and Kennedy had a relationship through Judith Exner. Exner was close to Sinatra where he introduced Judith to John. Exner‘ s infatuation with Kennedy was immediate and for the next month after they met allegedly spoke on the phone daily. It was said that Exner was a money runner for the mob and she was a way for the mafia to get close to the President.
