What actually happened in the Gulf? (Bp oil spill)

   There have been many different theories on what happened with this oil spill. Some people have blamed aliens to be the cause of this "natural disaster", but this is not the focus I will be taking in this blog. Many right wing conspirators such as Rush Limbaugh, believed that the Environmentalists blew up the rig to "head off more drilling". Limbaugh believes that the environmentalist did this because the rig blew up the day before earth day which the carbon tax bill was suppose to be announced on earth day. Limbaugh states that environmentalists strongly criticized the bill. Now the left-side of the political spectrum blamed former Vice-President Dick Chaney as the cause of the disaster. Alex Pareene, a blogger from Salon.com, blames Chaney for industry pandering during George Bush's time in office. He stated that lax oversight permitted BP to avoid the $500,000 cost of installing a dead man switch on board the rig that would've plugged the break in the pipe and prevent the explosion. Another theory for this is that one of Chaney's former employers, Halliburton, it was responsible cementing the drill hole. People on the internet believe that Halliburton intentionally triggered the blow out and halt U.S. Oil production to make the prices of oil increase. Another theory that struck my attention was that North Korea sent a submarine to blow up the rig. It was said that the sub shot two torpedoes at the rig and then two days later blew up under the rig causing it to sink.
